In 1993-1996 First Secretary in the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, USA. From 1996-1999 held posts in the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Deputy Director in the Office of the State Secretary, Director of the Department of International Economic Cooperation, Deputy Director General, and Director of the First Territorial Department.

Ambassador of Republic of Poland to Ukraine and former director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation (PAUCI) which manages the trans-border projects with Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia. Previously program director for ZNAK Foundation in Krakow and the editor of “Tygodnik Powszechny”. As a journalist, he covered the Romanian Revolution and war in the former Yugoslavia. Author of two documentary books on the Balkans and a novel Scent of the Angel which is based on his work experience in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

He also graduated with merits both from Bradford School of Economics, as well as from William R. Boone HS in USA with a master degree in Management and Economy. Metodija also received the Presidential Scholarship at Valencia Community College. He used to work for the leading Polish fabrics manufacturer where he was responsible for the market studies and new customer acquisition.
