Project co-ordinator in Institute for Environmental Policy, Prague, Czech Republic. Chairman of the board of the Iris p.b.o (Czech NGO operating in the field of ecological education), co- founder of the Robinson (Czech NGO). Since 2001 Member of the National Steering Committe of the project "Supporting Local Agenda 21 Initiatives in the Czech Republic". Areas of interest: know-how of sustainable development (SD) and ecological aspects of sustainable development, as well as application of theoretical principles of SD in practice. 

PhD from the Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Management and Social Communication, School of Cultural Management. Her European experience in the fields of cultural management education has been broadened through serving on the Board of ENCATC – European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres, and participating in international seminars and training sessions (Denmark, Great Britain, Austria, Russia, etc.) Ms Sternal now teaches at the Jagiellonian University and Cracow Academy of Music.  

 Professor of Sociology, Director of the Institute of Sociology of Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest. Former president of Hungarian Sociological Association, Vice-President of the National UNESCO Commission. Visiting professorships in US, Canadian, UK, German, Austrian, Russian, Ukrainian and other universities. Main interests: political sociology, science policy, sociology of intellectuals, comparative studies on East- and Central Europe.
