A long-time correspondent for the Associated Press, the world’s largest and oldest news agency, and the head of the AP’s operations in Poland. He has reported on the fall of communism in the Eastern Europe and various aspects of the region’s political, economic and social transition after 1989. In February 2004, following 20 years with the AP, moved to work as television news editor for TVN24, Poland’s first all-news television. In April 2005, joined Siemens Sp. z o. o., the global concern’s Polish regional company, as the PR director and press spokesman.

PhD at Charles University, Prague in Political Science, recipient of numerous fellowships and professional courses in the U.S., Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Italy and Slovenia. In 1999 he was a research fellow at Institute of International Relations, Prague, between 2001-2006 lecturer at University of West Bohemia Pilsen teaching global issues. Since 2001, a reporter for the Czech economic daily Hospodářské noviny, and since 2006 the head of the foreign desk. Previously, he worked in various Czech written media outlets, incl. TV and radio.

In 1989 he was elected a member of Sejm (the Lower House of Polish Parliament) and held the position of a chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Culture and Mass Media for the next 9 years. In 1990 he co-founded the Democratic Union Party. Later he was a member of the Union of Freedom Party. In 1999 he was appointed a member of the National Broadcasting Council by Sejm for a period of 6 years, until 2003 he served as the chairman of the Council. After that he started working as the general director of the Association of the Council for Advertising.
