Erdoğan

Aslı Erdoğan born in Istanbul, studied Computer Engineering and Physics (MS in 1993) and worked as a high energy research physicist at CERN, Geneva where she completed her thesis in Higgs Physics there. After a 2-year stay in South America, she returned to Istanbul and started to live as a free lance writer. Aslı has written several books: novels, novellas, collections of short stories and poetic prose, and selections from her political essays.

Writer, documentary filmmaker and film editor. Studied at the Polish Film School in Łódź. Author of three novels: A Mark Left by Mom, The Clam and a hypertext Matrioszka. Director of photography of the documentary Underground Women’s State and co-director of Downtown, a documentary that has won the Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award in 2011.Her documentary Solidarity according to Women" won The Krzysztof Kieslowski Beyond Borders Award in 2015.

Jeannette Bougrab is a French lawyer and politician. She served as the junior minister for Youth and Community Life from 2010 2012 and is a member of the UMP party. Prior to this, she was the Chair of the French Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination Commission (HALDE) from 16 April 2010 to     14 November 2010. Jeannette Bougrab received a Masters (DEA) in Law from the University of Orléans and completed a PhD in Public Law from the Sorbonne in Paris as well as a Masters (Magistère) in Economics Law.

Mazen Maarouf is a Palestinian poet and writer. His three books of poetry are:“An Angel Suspended On The Clothesline” (Beirut, 2012), “The Camera Doesn’t Capture Birds” (1st edition 2004, 2nd edition 2010) and "Our Grief Resembles Bread"(Beirut, 2000). He took part in several internatrional poetry readings in Lebanon, Scotland and France. His poetry has been translated in English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Maltese and lately Icelandic and Chinese. Mazen Maarouf is now a writer in residency in (Iceland).
