The final day of the 24th Visegrad Summer School challenged our cohort to synthesize 10 days of intense discussions into concrete foresight scenarios. Tasked with mapping out the probable, preferable, and plausible futures of our digital world, the participants delivered five incredibly sharp and detailed presentations.

The New Era of Digital Fragmentation and Simplification: This group explored a future where governments exhaustively implement AI in public services and politicians use AI-generated avatars to project a "perfect" image, avoiding public scandals and accountability for their mistakes
. They warned of a reality where media reaches a "religious level" of polarization, leaving people isolated in alternate realities . To ensure human accountability, the participants proposed establishing e-governance experts to set strict "red lines" and creating a legally binding EU Charter of AI governance enforced by a sovereign College of Experts .

The Radicalisation of Media Platforms: Focusing on how algorithms capitalize on consumption data, this presentation tackled the severe problem of social isolation and loneliness, particularly among young men
. The group outlined a vicious cycle where this frustration is exploited by radical politicians and male political influencers, driving a demand for extreme content and deepfakes . To break this cycle, they proposed solutions like improved education, worktime reductions for parents to spend more time with children, and social or military service to develop empathy . Crucially, they warned that while institutions must fight hate speech, society must avoid creating a totalitarian "morality police" that would eradicate freedom of speech .

AI and the New Dimension of Physical-Digital Security: Tackling a highly futuristic scenario set in 2040, this group analyzed the ethical and legal nightmares of human cloning for military purposes
. They identified the massive threat of genetic data leakage, where enemies could steal and exploit the DNA of captured cloned soldiers . To safeguard genetic information, the participants proposed drafting new international humanitarian laws, establishing highly secure physical and digital data centers, and utilizing extreme AI technologies—such as encrypted DNA or nano-robots designed to destroy the genetic material if a soldier is captured on the battlefield .

The Digital State and Techno-Oligarchs: This presentation warned against the growing influence of "techno-oligarchs" - powerful tech leaders operating outside traditional democratic structures
. The group argued that individuals are being turned into data sources without meaningful consent, leading to the "Trumpization" of politics and a lack of common ground for consensus . Their solutions included strong regulations against monopolies, taxing tech giants, and developing localized, city-based AI models to keep sensitive data close to the community . They envisioned a future led by "digital partisans" - resilient citizens organizing alternative, democratic digital states to avoid techno-autocracies .

The Future of Human Creativity and Independent Thought: Will AI replace independent thinking? This group expressed deep concerns that as AI increasingly generates content, society will become more susceptible to manipulation and lose its critical thinking abilities
. They predicted the automation of creative professions, such as design, noting that purely human-made products will eventually become rare luxury items valued for their authenticity . To adapt, they proposed the creation of new professions like the "critical thinking trainer" to help people maintain independent judgment . To creatively communicate their fears, the students produced a TikTok video and an original drawing titled "RIP Human Creativity" .
The depth of analysis, ethical consideration, and creativity showcased in the Future Laboratory was truly exceptional. The challenges of tomorrow are complex, but looking at this cohort, we know the future is in highly capable hands.
