23rd VSS - Ideas Were Shared, Minds Were Moved

On July 9th, at Villa Decius, we officially concluded the 23rd edition of the Visegrad Summer School, held under the theme The Future of Enlargement.

Over the course of 10 days, our participants explored the shifting dynamics of international cooperation, EU and NATO expansion, and the challenges and opportunities ahead for Central Europe, the Western Balkans, and the Eastern Partnership countries.

From thought-provoking lectures and panel debates to immersive workshops in the VSS Future Lab, study visits, and the deeply reflective visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, this edition was as intellectually intense as it was emotionally resonant.

The unforgettable Multicultural Evening showcased creativity, collaboration, and cultural storytelling, proving that diversity is our strength.

On the final day, participants presented the results of their group work within the VSS Future Laboratory, sharing original scenarios, foresight-based reflections, and bold ideas for the future of enlargement. Stay tuned - we’ll share highlights from these final presentations in dedicated posts very soon.

Thank you to our participants, who brought this program to life with sharp questions, bold ideas, and a spirit of curiosity and community.
