Professor of Philology and Management & Administration. Main interests: theory of literature, science of theatrical matters, cultural management. 1994-2000 Director of Cricoteka Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor, Krakow. Visiting Professor at Cleveland State University (1992) and at the University of Rochester (2000). Author of numerous books, e.g. The Dead Memory Machine(1994). Tadeusz Kantor's Theatre of Death (2000).  

Doctoral student at Faculty of Philology at Silesian University in Katowice, master’s degree holder in Polish Philology and Film Studies via MISH. Her major concerns are the 20^th century Polish poetry and modernistic prose. M.A. in film studies obtained by an analysis of Sally Potter’s works. Her interests concern the ontology and pathology of literary and cinematic image – tracing the distortions of artistic conventions.

Since 1979 has been engaged in Jewish history and culture. Translator of the Hebrew literature. Among his translations there are: poetry of Jehuda Amichaj: The end of orange season (Koniec sezonu pomarańczy), poetic prose of Amos Oz: The same sea (To samo morze), prose of Chaim Beera Dawid Grossman, Mira Magen, Orli Kastel-Blum, poems of contemporary Israeli poets. Since 1990 has published in newspapers and magazines (i.a. Zeszyty Literackie, Kwartalnik Artystyczny).
