Martin Ehl

Martin Ehl

PhD at Charles University, Prague in Political Science, recipient of numerous fellowships and professional courses in the U.S., Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Italy and Slovenia. In 1999 he was a research fellow at Institute of International Relations, Prague, between 2001-2006 lecturer at University of West Bohemia Pilsen teaching global issues. Since 2001, a reporter for the Czech economic daily Hospodářské noviny, and since 2006 the head of the foreign desk. Previously, he worked in various Czech written media outlets, incl. TV and radio. He has published articles in the Serbian, Slovak and Polish press. His main areas of expertise include: Central Europe, Balkans, security policy, transatlantic relations, globalization, Latin America and Spain. From 2009 onwards, lecturerin Central and Eastern European Political Systems at the Metropolitan University in Prague. Author of a book A Third Decade: about the Life, Politics and People between Brussels and Gazprom.

Associated Professor at the International Economics Department of Cracow University of Economics. Scientific interests: international economic and political relations, geopolitics, mathematical aided decision ‑ making, science marketing and adventure tourism. Business consultant in the fields of strategic and multicultural management, psychological factors in management and geopolitical functioning of international enterprises. Besides scientific and didactical activity he has acquired experience in international enterprises (i.e. ISP Modzelewski i Wspólnicy Sp. z o.o., Compact S.A., Electricité de France). NGO associate (i.e. Villa Decius), consultant in European Union’s Framework Programmes (various tasks in frames of Operational Programme Human Capital), guest lecturer at foreign Universities (Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, USA). Alumnus of Cracow University of Economics (International Relations, International Management). Scholar of Polish Government at the College of Europe, Natolin / Brugge (Poland / Belgium, European Interdisciplinary Studies) and Hanns – Seidel – Stiftung at the Georg – Simon – Ohm Fachhochschule Nürnberg (Germany, Betriebswirtschaft). Hobbies: adventure tourism, construction of motorcycles, lead guitarist in doom – metal band Lacrima.

Politologist, historian. Former program manager at the Institute for Civic Diplomacy (ICD) of Pontis Foundation, an independent NGO based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Reporter of Radio Free Europe and SME (Slovakian daily). Organiser of humanitarian aid for Cuba and for Belarus. Since October 2007 work in the time of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
